How Does the Hardscape Installation Process Work?

The Hardscape Design and Install Process includes the following steps:
Hardscape Design & Planning
We use aerial photographs, surveys, detailed measurements, etc. to create the hardscape design that best suits the space and the customer's wants and needs. Access and underground utilities are carefully considered when developing the construction plan to complete the work safely and expeditiously.
Site Prep Work & Excavation
We are very careful to locate underground plumbing and wiring and reroute them the best way possible. We are landscapers first so we do not just cap sprinkler heads. We ensure that the designated areas are irrigated properly, excluding features like your new hardscape.
Compaction of Base Pad
We use large, expensive plate compactors to achieve the best compaction, creating foundations that last and resist washout.
Here at Siesta Turnkey, we simply DO NOT cut any corners on our work. This is a big step that some paver installers often skimp on…we do not. We add at least 4" of compacted base material for walkways and 6" or more for driveways. We do quality work at a very fair price. Remember, just because you’re saving money on some, doesn’t mean the same quality of work, as mentioned. Apples to apples comparison, but we take pride in our work and its results.
Screed Layering (Smoothing with a Straight Edge)
This step simply ensures that the level pavers are at the correct grade level.
Laying the Paver/Stone
We put a lot of time and effort into a proper paving of all the stone set.
Polymeric Joint Sand
This is sand mixed with epoxy polymers that when installed correctly, locks the pavers together. This also helps with weed control and there are some color options to please aesthetically. Another minor but critical step in the hardscape installation process.
Reinforced Concrete Edge Restraining
We again stress that we not only take pride in our work, but guarantee quality. Sadly, many of our competition skimps on this step, and does not use rebar in the restraining edge. Over time, it will cause the entire project to fail. If you want superb hardscape design and installation in the Sarasota, FL area, give Siesta Turnkey a shout!
We use locally sourced rip rap rock, beach shell, and all types of cast concrete materials. We also import beach pebble, granite chip mulch, etc. from local sources as well.
We normally do around 90% of jobs ourselves, otherwise we may hire a designer on a large commercial projects, depending on situation and needs.
On most jobs, we can do about 1000 Sq. feet/day. And when the job is complete, we recommend staying off of it for usually around 24-48 hours, depending on the project.
There are way too many hardscape installers on the area that have driven the prices down and also the quality of work. We will not cut corners so our customers will always get the great pricing with a quality install, every time.
